NCTV Advisory Board Meeting Minutes of 7-15-04Minutes: NCTV Advisory Board Meeting
Monday, July 15, 2004, NCTV Classroom 6:00pm to 8:00 pm 1. Meeting called to order by Peter van Zant at 6:06 p.m. Members in attendance: All members of the NCTV Advisory Board were present excluding Tina Ludutsky-Taylor Also present: Staff present: Terri Hicklin, NCTV Station Coordinator Community Members present: Buck Stoval, Marston Schultz Discussion Items 2. Adoption of the Agenda Motion by Marianne, seconded by Dave to adopt the agenda. Vote: Unanimous 3. Adoption of the minutes of June 21, 2004 Motion by Kerry and seconded by Nancy to adopt the minutes with corrections: Spelling of last names of members of the Board. Vote Unanimous 4. Public Forum; Invitation to members of the public to address the public with regard to issues that are not on the agenda. Limited to 3 minutes each. 5. Station update; Lew Sitzer: a) Insurance Update: Copy of equipment reservation form passed out for review. The Board made suggestions for revision. b) There is now a working FAX machine in the NCTV office. c) The alarm system has been installed and is operational. d) The acoustic “foam” has arrived and will be installed very soon. e) There are now six computers for the editing bays. f) The 4th of July parade raised $1300 in underwriting revenues. g) A “Thank You” notice will appear in the Union on the 17th. h) Sierra College and ROP classes will be starting in August, with Lorraine Jewitt-Burdick as the Sierra College instructor and Glenn Cornish as the ROP instructor, and discussion of the expected unavailability of studio and edit space once classes begin. i) NCTV is on the air 24-7 as of 7-13-04. j) Recent legal problems discussed ( the dance recital and the National Guard) k) Lew and Dave are working on a procedures handbook Action Items 6. Public comment on Draft Policies Buck Stoval spoke on some issues he felt may be “commercial use.” 7. Review and Adoption of sections of the Draft Policies/NCTV Marianne moved and Gary seconded that the policies be approved as amended. The motion was passed with unanimous approval 8. Recommendation for future meetings: It was decided to hold the regular meeting of the NCTV Advisory Board on the third Thursday of each month. The next regular meeting was scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 19th at 6:00 p.m. 9.
