Advisory Board Meeting Minutes, September 16, 2004
MINUTES: NCTV Advisory Board Meeting
Thursday, September 16, 2004, NCTV Classroom
6:00pm to 8:13 pm
1. Meeting called to order by Dave at 6:05 pm.
Members in attendance: All but Peter and Kerry. (Tina left at 7:00 PM, during Item #6.)
Designation of Dave as Recording Secretary.
Because of the availability of a guest presenter, the Closed Session, originally scheduled for later in the meeting, was moved up.
2. CLOSED SESSION: Review of the Budget regarding refranchising negotiations. Presentation by Terena Mendonsa, NCBOE. (The session began with a discussion to confirm the appropriateness of the closed session; it was duly decided that the session was appropriate.) Returned to public session at 6:44.
Discussion Items
3. Adoption of the Agenda. So moved by Marianne seconded by Nancy to adopt the agenda. Vote: Unanimous.
4. Adoption of the minutes of August 19, 2004. So moved by Nancy seconded by Marianne. Vote Unanimous (1 absention).
5. Public Forum: No members of the public in attendance.
6. Station update: Lew. (Notes: ) NCTV is doing regular live shows. Gil’s “Inside NU Sports” is restarting. Friday Night Football needs a Saturday staff person to be run on Saturdays; staffing hour adjustments are being made to accommodate that and to have the facility open some Saturday hours. Fran is becoming full-time with NCTV.
7. Fund-raising presentation: Nancy and Penny. (Details contained in handout to Board.) Penny and Nancy presented the plan to the Board. Discussion of various plans and strategies. Discussion of limitations on Board members who are representing public entities. Board members to contact personally-known people/businesses on the Contact List this week.
