Summer is here and activities at The Media Center have not slowed down even thought I have been laid up with a surgery and staph infection. I am doing better now and expect to be at the studio each day for a few hours.
We are running Video Summer Camp programs for children ages 10-17, beginners through advanced students. Please let your friends and families know.
We've upgraded the Editing Suites to handle Final Cut Pro 7 in anticipation of increased member use. Classes in the Mini Studio with BoinxTV will resume in August, and Tri-caster training is ongoing in the Main Studio.
Major efforts have been directed toward building a Board that will replace the strong leadership of Susan Rogers and Paul Shampay. They have led us through challenging times and deserve many more thanks than we are capable of offering.
Karen Marinovich, our new Board President, has years of experience with the Center of Nonprofit Leadership and is past Director of Foothill Theatre Company, as well as being an engineer with a keen mind for organization, just what we need.
Coming along are collaborations with Music in the Mountains, KVMR, local high schools and other non-profits. To build our viewing audience, I hope friends and members will take the opportunity to imagine and develop program content at the Media Center that will enrich our knowledge, spirit and community awareness.
