-- Watch for the June episode of "Breaking Bread," a new program that brings together people with polar-opposite viewpoints to discuss many of the hot-button issues of the day. The goal is not to have participants try to convert "the other side," but to expound on areas of agreement and find areas of common ground. The show's tag line is, "It's not a debate, it's a discussion."

April's introductory episode, "Language and Labels," discussed how words can be used to either unite or divide groups of people. May's topic was the Second Amendment and gun control. In June, Patricia Smith will discuss Cannabis, the scientific merits of medical marijuana, and limiting access to teens.

Full episodes can be viewed at the NCTV archives as well as the Breaking Bread website, where the public is encouraged to add their commentary to the conversation and to offer ideas for future topics.

-- The next Board meeting of the Media Center is Thursday, June 20 at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Summer is here and activities at The Media Center have not slowed down even thought I have been laid up with a surgery and staph infection. I am doing better now and expect to be at the studio each day for a few hours.

We are running Video Summer Camp programs for children ages 10-17, beginners through advanced students. Please let your friends and families know.
