Lew Sitzer, Executive Director
I’ve come to NCTV after 5 years of living abroad with my wife,
working at an American international school in Bucharest, Romania. Being
overseas gave me more of an international perspective on our own country
and community. I am also very pleased to return home to Nevada
County where my family and I have lived for over 30 years.
I’ve been a teacher for 30+ years with emphasis on history and
documentary photography. I’ve been a participant in many
social events in our history, from civil rights work in Mississippi to
refugee work during the Viet Nam war, to research in South Africa after
apartheid and lately to community work with children in Romania. My
life-long interest is in developing community by working with people
from all aspects of the community, artistic, educational, and political,
and to educate and improve our understandings and relationships.
My family consists of my wife, Eddy, a school teacher, our daughter,
Hannah, 30, a designer for Banana Republic who lives in San Francisco,
and our son, Abe, 25, who is a China scholar and lives in Taipei, Taiwan.
My interests are gardening, tending our orchard, keeping in touch with
friends and continuing on my path of life-long learning. |
